Childish Gambino

Donald McKinley Glover(born September 25, 1983), also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, is an American actor, writer, comedian, rapper, and producer. He first came to attention for his work with Derrick Comedy and subsequently became a writer for the NBC comedy series 30 Rock. He is perhaps best known for his role as college student Troy Barnes on the NBC series Community.
After several self-released albums and mixtapes, Glover signed to Glassnote Records in 2011 as Childish Gambino. He released Camp on Glassnote on November 15, 2011. His second studio album, Because the Internet, was released on December 10, 2013.
Glover was born at the Edwards Air Force Base, California and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. His mother, Beverly, is a retired daycare provider, and his father, Donald, Sr., is a retired postal worker. His parents were also foster parents and Jehovah's Witnesses. Glover graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in dramatic writing in 2006, after attending DeKalb School of the Arts and Lakeside High School.
From 2006 to 2009, Glover was a writer for the NBC series 30 Rock where he also had an occasional cameo appearance. He was presented the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series at the February 2009 ceremony for his work on the third season of 30 Rock.
Glover's stage name, Childish Gambino, came from a Wu-Tang Clan name generator. He released an independent album entitled Sick Boi on June 5, 2008. Glover is a member of the sketch comedy group Derrick Comedy, along with Dominic Dierkes, Meggie McFadden, DC Pierson, and Dan Eckman. The group wrote and starred in a feature-length film, Mystery Team, released in theaters in 2009.
On September 17, 2009, Childish Gambino released the independent album Poindexter. A pair of mixtapes entitled I Am Just a Rapper, and I Am Just A Rapper 2 were released in close succession in early 2010. Robert Scahill added his producing expertise helping with the majority of the tracks. The track listings for those albums consist of the name of the song "he" raps, followed by the song he raps over. His third album, Culdesac, was set to be released on July 2, 2010, but a couple of last minute additions caused the album to be delayed for a day. The album was made available on July 3.Glover has stated in interviews that on Sick Boi and Poindexter he felt he had to hide behind gimmicks, such as pink hoodies, but with his subsequent projects, he has touched on more personal subject matter, including family, schoolyard bullying, troubled romantic relationships, suicidal thoughts and alcoholism. He has disowned his 2005 album, The Younger I Get, as the too-raw ramblings of what he calls a "decrepit Drake."
Glover's stand-up special aired on Comedy Central on March 19, 2010. In May 2010, a fan suggested Glover for the role of Peter Parker in the then-upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man film, encouraging his supporters to retweet the hashtag "#donald4spiderman". The campaign, originally started to see how far social networking could carry a message, quickly gained a large following. The call for Glover to be allowed to audition for the role was supported by Spider-Man creator Stan Lee. Comics writer Brian Michael Bendis, who announced an African-American version of Spider-Man a year later, said he had conceived of the character before Glover's campaign went viral. Bendis gave credit to Glover for influencing the new hero's looks; on seeing him dressed as Spider-Man on Community (a nod to the campaign), Bendis said, "I saw him in the costume and thought, 'I would like to read that book.'" Glover would later voice this incarnation of Spider-Man on the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series.
Glover received the Rising Comedy Star award at the Just for Laughs festival in July 2010. Glover was featured in Gap's 2010 Holiday ad campaign. Donald Glover DJs and produces his own music under the moniker "mcDJ" (pronounced "M-C-D-J"). His music is of the electronic/remix variety and is often made available for free download via his official site. His current album releases include Love Letter in an Unbreakable Bottle and Utterances of the Heart.
On December 1, 2010, Glover released the first track off of his EP titled "Be Alone". He released the next track, "Freaks and Geeks", as well as a five-song track list, on February 11, 2011. On February 25, Donald released the dates for the IAMDONALD tour and also his very first music video for "Freaks and Geeks". The music video was shot by Dan Eckman, the director of the Derrick Comedy troupe. This song would later be used in an Adidas commercial featuring Dwight Howard which brought the song, and Donald, more recognition. On March 8, 2011 Donald released his newest EP via his official website.

Iggy Azalea

Amethyst Amelia Kelly, better known as Iggy Azalea, was born in Sydney, Australia in June of 1990. She began rapping at age 14, and with the desire to go to america she dropped out of high school to work and make money. She started working with her mother cleaning hotel rooms and holiday houses.Azalea traveled to the United States in 2006, right before she turned 16. She told her parents she was going "on a holiday" with a friend, but eventually decided to stay and shortly afterwards told them she was not coming back home: "I was drawn to America because I felt like an outsider in my own country, I was in love with hip hop, and America is the birthplace of that, so I figured the closer I was to the music, the happier I'd be. I was right"(Azalea). After her arrival in America, she obtained her GED and resided in the U.S. on a visa waiver for six years, leaving the country every three months to renew it. She is currently in the country on a five-year O visa, having previously earned money illegally.
When she first arrived in the United States, she stayed in Miami, Florida, and afterwards lived briefly in Houston, Texas, Azalea settled for a few years in Atlanta, Georgia, working with a member of the Dungeon Family named Backbone. She took her stage name from the name of her childhood dog, Iggy, and the street she grew up on, Azalea Street, where her family lives to this day. She said people would laugh at her because "they thought my raps sucked." But having grown up getting laughed at, she was able to shrug it off. Meanwhile, she'd met someone from Interscope Records who kept encouraging her to move to Los Angeles, and so in the summer of 2010, she decided to do so. She was briefly managed by Interscope. In 2011 she started posting freestyle rap videos online and got popular very quickly.
Today Iggy Azalea is proforming all over the world and collaberating with many other artists such as, Rita Ora, Charlie XCX, Robin Thicke, Ariana Grande, and so many more. She models and hosts her own TV show called House of style and will be in the next Fast and Furious coming out in 2015.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is only twenty-one years old and has made a huge name for herself. Growing up in South Florida she began her career on a cruise ship, and sporting events before she made her way into Broadway. After plays, like The Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast, she got her start on Nickelodeon.
In 2009, at just fifteen, she auditioned for the Nickelodeon television show Victorious in New York along with 13 co-star Elizabeth Gillies. In this sitcom set in a performing arts high school, Grande was cast as Cat Valentine, a classmate and friend of Tori Vega (Victoria Justice), while Gillies landed the role of the "mean girl", Jade West. When she landed the role, Grande had to dye her hair red every other week because the executive producer, Dan Schneider, did not want all cast members to be brunettes. Her character was compared to "Brittany Murphy's performance as the frumpy, hapless Tai in Clueless" (1995) and described as being "very impressionable and easily swayed" but "generally sweet."  The show began filming on October 5, 2009 and premiered on March 27, 2010 to the second largest audience for a live-action series in Nickelodeon history with 5.7 million viewers.
After season one of Victorious wrapped, Grande wanted to focus on her music career and began working on her debut album in August 2010. To strengthen her vocal range, she began working with vocal coach Eric Vetro, who also worked with pop singer Katy Perry. While filming Victorious, Grande made several recordings of herself singing covers of Adele, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey, and uploaded them on YouTube. A friend of Monte Lipman, CEO of Republic Records, came across one of Grande's videos while searching for videos on YouTube. Impressed with her vocals, he sent Lipman links to YouTube videos of Grande singing and signed her to a recording contract. Grande spent three years recording her debut album, Yours Truly. She completed the album in June 2013, originally titled Daydreamin, and was released on August 30, 2013. In January 2010, it officially debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart—with 138,000 copies sold in its first week—making Grande the first female artist, since Kesha, to have her first album debut atop of the charts—and the fifteenth female artist overall. The lead single, "The Way" featuring Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller, debuted at No. 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, eventually peaking at No. 9 for two weeks, and spent 26 weeks on the Hot 100.
Today, Ariana is on Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat, still recording with various artists, and is dating rapper Big Sean.

Sex Music

R&B music has always had sex appeal. Everyone knows Marvin Gaye, but what about all other the newer artists that have had the same vibe? Nelly, Twista, Trey Songz, even Justin Timberlake. The music is slow and sensual, even calming. Music effects how we feel and our emotions and with their style of music it's ment to turn people on. That's why most of our parents wouldn't let us listen to it when we were younger. I started listening to this kind of music once I got into high school and I haven't stopped. Enjoy some Trey Songz.

All Time Favorite

Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi is my favorite artist all time. His positive energy, good vibes, and relaxed style makes him stand apart. The first time I actually listened to his music, I was fourteen. My friend and I were trying to find stuff to do, so we started listening to music. She introduced me to Kid Cudi. I loved him right from the first song I heard to the last. Kanye West signed Cudi in '08, but he went on to make his own record label called, Wicked Awesome Records. Kid Cudi has sold over 5.2 million digital singles and has worked with artists such as Jay-Z, Common, Mary J. Blige, David Guetta, Shakira, MGMT, Ratatat, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bolton. His current net worth is five million dollars, making him one of the richest rappers alive. The song above is called Cleveland is the Reason, and was released from one of his first mix tapes.

The Reason I Chose This Topic

The reason I chose this topic is the simple fact that I've always liked music and it's been a big part of my life. I grew up listening to music. Music from the 90's reminds me of my mom, and how she always had the radio on. New Kids On The Block, Usher, always played in the car and the house. Music is all around you all the time, weather you allow yourself to hear it or not. Different people like all different types of music, a different taste. If you like the volume loud or low, or when you like to listen to music the most. I like to listen to music all the time, and it helps during awkward situations. Like the first day of college when you don't know anyone, and are sitting next to someone you don't know in the hallway. Or, when you just want to tune the whole world out for a while. People think of music in different ways; what do you think when you hear the work music? While most people think songs, artists, and album, some people think of instrumental music, or just vocal singing. Open your mind to new things and ideas. Expand your horizon.
